In 1992, Kyoto Institute of Technology Center for Environmental Science was established by reorganizing and expanding the previous Waste Liquid Treatment Organization.
In those days, the worldwide environmental problems, such as global warming, ozone layer depletion, acid rain, and so on, were becoming increasingly serious, and needed immediately to clear the mechanisms and to research solutions. Center for Environmental Science was organized to deal with these issues from a various perspective.
Our center is equipped with a variety of analytical instruments and waste liquid detoxification plant to manage the waste and drainage generated by the university’s educational and research activities.
And we have various duties related to environmental management; academic research for environmental conservation, public relations activities inside and outside the university, human resource development with environmental conscious thinking, and so on.
